Miss Kristen Drabek
Ever since the second grade, my dream has always been to become a teacher. I am on the path to making that dream come true as a senior at Madonna University. I am studying Early Childhood Development and Elementary Education. While being a full time student, I am also a full time athlete for the University. I play softball for the Madonna Crusaders. I am also highly involved in the Red Cross Club and Campus Ministry.
I have a passion for working with children. I absolutely love their enthusiasm for learning and how much I learn from them in return. Their imaginations are incredible and endless. I believe each and every child has potential.
Madonna University has provided me experience working with children. I have spent many hours in classrooms learning from cooperating teachers and the students.
Before Madonna, I had worked a six week summer camp with children ranging from ages 4-12. I was the only adult in charge of 30+ neighborhood kids Monday-Friday from 10-3. The camp's purpose was to keep kids out of trouble and active during the summer. I engaged them with new crafts every week as well as friendly, active games. It was, by far, one of the most influential summers of my life. It was my first experience working with children alone, and it strengthened my love for my dream even more.
Currently, I am headed into my senior year at Madonna University and I could not be more excited to continue building towards my career as a future educator!
